The NEU Hunters’ Shaun May-as opened the game with a steal and converted a middy jumper. The Hunters took the lead with 2:26 left due to their tight D and hustle on the boards. Shaun was on fire from the start as he scored 8 of his team's 14 points to end the quarter. Chico Carlos showed that he is a multifaceted player. He may not have scored a lot in the first half, but he impacted the game through his defense and playmaking, as they were without their other star, Ivan De Leon. NEU closed out the quarter with a 7-point lead; they led 14-7.
NEU jumped out to a big lead due to the turnovers they caused, wreaking havoc on the Genesis offense. The NEU team further increased their lead to 14 as they found ways to get the ball to the open man. Shaun was waxing hot as he continued to drive fearlessly to the basket. May-as scored half of his team’s 31 points as he helped his team secure a huge 17-point lead heading into the 2nd half.
The Hunters continued their dominating ways as they blew the game open. Chico went to work in the 3rd as he turned it up on the offensive end and scored a bulk of his points in the quarter. Once the Hunters took the lead in the 1st, they never looked back. They were the more skilled team, and it showed as they cut through the defense like a hot knife through butter.

Shaun May-as stepped up big time and took home player of the game honors as he led their team in scoring. Shaun put up an impressive stat line of 18 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals. The duo of Carlos and May-as proved too much for Genesis to handle as the pair was scoring and driving at will. Chico and Shaun combined for 28 points and 13 rebounds, as well as pestering the Genesis offense on the other end, an all-around game from both of them. Chico and Shaun led their team to a 54- 32 victory, clinching the 3rd place trophy for the NEU Hunters.
